One (Fill in the Blank) at a Time!

A quick reminder at the start of 2025!

When starting anything new…including a new year…it’s easy to get super excited and overwhelm yourself (and possibly others) with a lot of tasks…activities…goals..,resolutions…plans…new projects… or substitute any other word you would like to fill in the blank!

Problem is, when you do that, and batch things in your excitement, it’s less likely they will get done…and more likely you will get frustrated and give up!

A better strategy is to plan to do things “one at a time” (or as we like to call it in lean, “single-piece flow”)! Set a Target and plan to work on one thing from one date to another. When the first thing is finished, start the next one! Take the time to savor the joy and pleasure you get from completing the one step…on task…one Target…and then let the confidence you’ve built from completing that one flow into the next!

I’m working on adding more fresh fruits and veggies to my diet! So…I’m starting with one! Adding a serving of yummy cantaloupe to my breakfast, every day for three weeks! Once I’ve got that done, I’ll move on the the next addition!

Remember, all tasks are completed and all Targets hit, by completing one step…one task…one thing…at a time”!
