Happy Monday! For many people, time to start the workweek! As you’re driving to work this morning, or booting up your computer, or getting coffee in the breakroom, you may be thinking of the long list of things that you have to do…reports to write, projects to finish, emails that came over the weekend…But are you thinking about the most important thing? Your customers – and how you will help them today? If you aren’t, you should be. It’s easy to get caught up in all the ‘internal things to do’ that seem to take up all of our time. And even easier to forget that the only real reason to do any of them is to provide the help that each of the customers who trust their business to you needs. Because, ultimately, service is about helping. So, my challenge for you today is to ask yourself, your team and your leaders, “How will we help our customers today?” And then using creativity and Toyota Way/lean principles and practices to figure it out! I’m heading to South America today. Looking forward to speaking about lean in services and meeting lots of fabulous people in Argentina and Brazil!
