Because I work in lean in services, people are often surprised that my approach uses daily, 15-minute coaching sessions. “But so much of service work is project based and not transactional. What could possibly happen in one day that you’d need to have a coaching session?” What I explain to people, is that not only do short, daily coaching sessions help people make progress in learning creative, new ways of thinking and lean practices, they have an extra added benefit! And that benefit is that spending time together daily creates real, human connections and relationships. When we spend time with someone every day we grow to trust them and have empathy for them human being to human being. And in my experience, if we’d like our learners to progress and learn and grow, that’s exactly what needs to happen!
