Like anything else you want to get better at, becoming more creative takes practice. Because people think creativity is something you either have or you don’t have, they also think there’s no way to become more creative. Being creative is an innate part of every person’s humanity. And, just like any other skill, it can be developed through practice. Practicing creativity doesn’t have to be difficult or complicated. It doesn’t require buying a lot of art supplies or a musical instrument (unless you want to, of course!). All you have to do is take a blank piece of paper and fold it in half. On one side write down a problem you haven’t figured out how to solve yet. On the other side, jot down as many ideas as you can for solutions. Doesn’t matter how crazy or improbable they seem. Do this simple exercise for 15 minutes a day, and you’ll be surprised at how quickly your creativity grows!
